13 chords are great ingredient commonly found in blues, jazz, and many other forms of music. They are constructed by stacking a 13th interval on a Dominant Chord. If we were in C it would be C, E, G, Bb, and A. Here is a favorite shape of mine in Open-E. A cool trick I have learned for practicing new chord shapes is to play a two chord vamp using the same shape a fourth (Five frets) apart.
